A Guide to Flying Overseas with Cats

One of the biggest tasks for our move to Amman, Jordan was preparing our two cats Penny and Lulu for the long trip. In the lead up to our departure many people asked us “Are we going to bring our cats?” which when we said “Yes” was almost always followed-up with “How long would they need to be quarantined?” First, not bringing our beloved kitties was a non-starter for us. If we couldn’t bring them with us we wouldn’t move. End of story. Second, through these conversations and our own research we realized how little most people knew about the process for bringing cats or pets in general overseas.

WOW Air vs Icelandair

There's been an explosion in travel to Iceland over the past five years, due largely in part to the launch of WOW Air and the expansion of Icelandair, the two main carriers servicing Keflavik International Airport. It seems like everyone has traveled to Iceland over the past couple of years, or is at least planning to. With this increase in options travelers in select markets now have two choices of which airline to take to Iceland or on to Europe.

Our First Airbnb Experience

 Surprisingly, Carrie and I only recently stayed in our first Airbnb. Our first stay happened to be in the home of Airbnb, San Francisco. On a recent work/leisure trip to San Francisco I had the chance to experience both accommodation options in the city-a hotel in Union Square, which I won’t name and an Airbnb in the Mission, which I will happily promote.
