Sustainable Backpacking Through the Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands make up a remote archipelago in the heart of the North Atlantic Ocean. This Nordic destination consists of 18 major islands and is over 600 miles away from Denmark. Apart from being part of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Faroe Islands is a self-governing archipelago renowned for its controversial whaling practices. It is not an easily accessible destination nor is it made for budget traveling. However, it has some magnificent sights.
